Second Generation FIT® is the revolutionary test to aid in the detection of Colorectal Cancer that is fast, accurate, and easy to use. Now you can test for the same advanced colon cancer biomarker that hospitals, labs, and physicians offices in the United States and Europe do in the privacy of your own home, with no diet or medicine restrictions.
To perform the FIT test, unscrew the collection tube to expose the wand and collect a small sample of your stool. Insert the wand back into the tube, then unscrew the smaller cap and add three drops of solution to the cassette. Results are available in four to seven minutes.
One line next to the “C” (Control) region is a negative result; one line next to the “C” and a second line next to the “T” (Test) region denotes a positive result. With a negative result, you are considered screended for colon cancer and your next step is to test again in one year, while a positive result should be followed up with a colonoscopy.Click the button below to watch the five minute video from the hit TV show "Eight Days With Charles Mattocks" to see how easy performing the Second Generation FIT® at home colorectal cancer test is and learn more about colon cancer.
Second Generation FIT® is amazingly accurate, detecting globlin levels at 50 ng/mL (50 billionths of a gram). The American College of Gastroenterology recommends a FIT test once per year, and recognizes the Fecal Immunochemical Test as the number one alternative to colonoscopy.³ In fact,in a recent study of over 26,000 patients, FIT caught more colon cancers than colonoscopy did.⁴ Continue reading below to see what peer reviewed journals, gastroenterologists, and publications say about Second Generation FIT®.
The main advantage of Second Generation FIT® is that an individual performs the whole test at home and does not need to send a sample in the mail. A 2019 meta-analysis notes that FIT has a high overall diagnostic accuracy for colorectal cancer and is a viable screening method. This conclusion is consistent with that of a 2017 peer reviewed article which adds that although FIT is 95% accurate in detecting colorectal cancer, it has a low sensitivity for detecting colon polyps.
As a Gastroenterologist, I love to see so many people taking control of their health using the Second Generation FIT® home test kit. Many of my patients who were apprehensive of colonoscopy found this test to be an easy, inexpensive, and accurate alternative once per year. Those who were positive were able to act early and prevent colon cancer. This test saves lives.
Their test has been the bestselling colon cancer screening test in the United States for 6 consecutive years. Pro's of the Second Generation FIT® test include it's OTC designation with the US Food and Drug Administration, it's affordability compared with similar products, ease of use, easy to find, and the fastest results.
The company was founded in 2011 and started producing consumer tests in 2016. The FIT test can be ordered over-the-counter for use in testing for blood in the stool.
